René Vaanderen will speak on:

“The Cityscape of The Hague—Then, Now, and in the Future”

The story of sand and peat, working-class neighborhoods and country estates, peace and
justice, from villages to high-rises, war and reconstruction, distinctive and
historic architecture, The Hague and Scheveningen.

René Vlaanderen served for many years in and for the municipality of The Hague
as a city council member and as an alderman. Since then, he has remained active
in various organizations in The Hague and has, in particular, delved into the history of
our city.
For example, he is the chair of the “Stichting Publicaties Haags Erfgoed” (The Hague Heritage Publications Foundation).
René also refers to himself as a “professional resident of The Hague.”
