The Haagse Kunstkring provides a stimulating environment where interdisciplinary interaction and innovation are central. We are the only artist association in the Netherlands that has almost all disciplines, making us a special and versatile breeding ground for new ideas and collaborations.
We are proud of our rich history. Over the years, many prominent designers and architects have been members of the Haagse Kunstkring, including Hendrik Petrus Berlage, Piet Zwart, Gerrit Rietveld, and many others.

The Haagse Kunstkring offers you the opportunity to expand your network within the art world and find new collaborators. You can exchange ideas with other professionals and art lovers from various disciplines.
Exhibitions
The HKK offers the opportunity to exhibit your work in our gallery and at various events. This is an excellent way to present your work to a wider audience and bring it to their attention. We regularly organize workshops and lectures by professionals who share their expertise.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration at the
Collaboration with other departments within the Haagse Kunstkring offers unique opportunities for innovative and groundbreaking projects. This interdisciplinary nature makes the Haagse Kunstkring a breeding ground for creative exchanges and innovative projects.
Membership Process for the Design and Architecture Department
To be admitted as a working member, you must be professionally active in your field.
Art enthusiasts can become members at any time. This membership is open to all.
Balloting
The admissions process includes a balloting process in which your work and artistic vision are evaluated by a committee of peers. You can apply for balloting throughout the year.
Three times a year—in January, May, and September—the Haagse Kunstkring’s Screening Committee reviews applications from candidates who wish to become members of the Design and Architecture section. At the next meeting, a maximum of 15 candidates will be reviewed. The remaining applications will be carried over to the following meeting. If this is the case, you will be notified. The entire process is handled digitally, so there is no need to submit any work.
Request the registration form, fill it out, and return it to the Haagse Kunstkring along with the supporting documentation listed below (four attachments) .

Results of the ballot
Once the work has been discussed by the committee, the results will be announced as soon as possible. The following outcomes are possible:
The selection committee is composed of several members of the Design and Architecture department who have volunteered to monitor the quality of artistic practice within the Haagse Kunstkring based on their own professional artistic experience. They do so with an impartial perspective and without regard to personal connections. Therefore, no correspondence will be entered into regarding the results of the selection process.
Fees The ballot fee is €30. The application will be processed once the €30 application fee has been paid to bank account NL89 RABO 0179 9015 40 in the name of Haagse Kunstkring, with the reference “Ballotage Haagse Kunstkring.”
The membership fee for members of the Visual Arts, Architecture, and Design section is €140 per year. For Ooievaarspas holders, the membership fee is €70 per year. Once you’ve been admitted, you’ll pay for the remainder of the current year. After that, you’ll pay annually. Payment plans may be available.
For young newly graduated artists there is the possibility to become a member at a reduced membership rate.
Aspiring members:
The first year after graduation the membership fee is € 50.00; the second year € 75.00; the third year € 100.00*.
*If you have a Stork Pass, it applies from the third year after graduation and the membership fee is half the then current membership fee.
