Prominent actors and cabaret performers have also been members, such as Albert Vogel Sr, Ellen Vogel, Fie Carelsen, Eric Schneider and Paul van Vliet, as well as theater producers such as Johan de Meester.

Art enthusiasts can become members at any time. This membership is open to all.

Please send your membership application to the Haagse Kunstkring. You will receive an email immediately with an attached application form, along with a request for a resume and a statement of purpose for membership. Once the board of the LTF chapter receives your completed form, they will review your application, and you will receive an invitation for a personal interview.

Balloting

Writers are eligible for admission if they have at least two book publications to their credit, published by a recognized publisher. In addition, a number of publications in reputable literary journals may also serve as an admission criterion.

Similar conditions apply to poets: they must have at least two publications with a recognized publisher, or perform regularly at recognized, high-quality venues within their discipline.

Playwrights are admitted if they are working within the professional field, on quality stages or if they are part of a recognized professional company.

For filmmakers, their professionalism is also a requirement. This includes the quality and importance of their realized work within the profession.

If necessary, the LTF board seeks the opinion of other members in the discipline in question. If someone has not published with a publisher or has not appeared on any important stage, etc., and yet there appears to be quality, then one or two other members in the discipline in question who know about it are asked for advice. This is especially common with poets.

Within the Department of Literature, Theater and Film, there has traditionally also been room for writing art historians, historians, journalists and people working as publishers. These are single people for whom no specific set of instruments has been developed, but where professionalism, the status of the person in question in the professional field and the status of the work in the professional field are also considered.

People are preferentially rejected based on the more formal criteria. And not on content.

Our association relies on the active involvement f its members. What role would you like or be able to play?
