The sculpture was created by visual artist Hans la Hey. The naming of the artwork refers to the Association’s first president, Théophile de Bock (1851 – 1904).
It is a challenge prize. The recipient passes the prize on to another artist, a member of The Hague Art Circle. It is up to the recipient when this will take place.
The award was established on the occasion of the 90th birthday of writer Yvonne Keuls, a member of the Department of Literature, Theater, Film, and was presented to her on February 25, 2022.
The board of the Haagse Kunstkring hereby expressed its special appreciation for the extensive, valuable and inexhaustible oeuvre of
Yvonne Keuls. Her work includes stage adaptations, plays, books, stories and columns.
Her books are mostly socially engaged with a great impact on society and readership. Her writing style is unique, a mixture of tragedy and humor.
Yvonne Keuls passed the art award on June 12, 2023, to artist couple Tatiana Radier, actress, and Rob Scholten, dramatist, translator and musician, in recognition of their decades of significance to The Hague Art Circle, but also more broadly because of their significance to the Hague art world.

Peter van Loon for his outstanding achievements in the field of art. He gained fame among other things through his art in space, his ingenious, playful and original music machines and much more. In addition, for decades he has devoted himself tirelessly and constructively – always with an amiable and positive attitude – to The Hague Art Circle.
